Web3 ≠ Blockchain

Web3 is the evolutionary leap forward for the internet.
Blockchain serves as its spine, providing structure, support, and resilience.
There are nascent and variants opinions of the term Web4. Currently, there is no right or wrong on Web3, because there are different perspectives given that technologies are yet in the continuous converging towards singularity. There are enhanced established tech and there are future emerging technologies -both are beyond exponential lifecycles of transformation.
In regards to the metaverse, Web3 is distributed ledger technology including of decentralised 6G/7G/FG, web, and blockchain and its variants. Web4 is the phygital virtualisation of everything Web3, thus Web3 as a subservient of the more ovearchic Web4 which includes immersive spatial and quantum virtual computing, worlds and AI, and AI has its subsets of generative, automation, human-in-the-loop and all emerging new and hitherto pioneered AI.
Web3 is the enhancement of the Web, and Web4 is the additional and virtualised layer of Web3. Time will tell if metaverse or its on-chain to Layer-0, Layer-1, Layer-2 and Layer-3 will be realised, but a single sphere lattice is a universe, and a combination of several universes and beyond is – by virtue of early concept and design – the adroit spatiality and temporality metaverse.
